Please note: Melton's will be closed from
Sunday 3rd August - Sunday 10th August
for our annual holiday.
One of the best restaurants in York, Melton's can be found in the the AA Guide, the 'Which?' Good Food Guide as well as other guides including Harden's, and the Egon Ronay Guide.
We've also recently been mentioned in the BBC's Olive magazine as having "The Best Home Cooking" in their 'foodie traveler' section, and WIll Hide of the Guardian said his beef with dauphinois potatoes "...was done to perfection". Our most recent review was by Mark Palmer for the Daily Telegraph.
Melton's is a fine dining restaurant, cooking fresh local produce to order.
Melton's was opened in 1990 by Chef Proprietor, Michael Hjort, and his wife Lucy. In 2001 they opened their larger Cafe Bar Bistro, Melton's Too.
Both businesses share a commitment to home-cooking and Yorkshire produce. All our events and menus highlight good value and interesting food and drink.
